“Is it possible to remain still in that moment closest to the beginning?” I’m drawn to the element of earth, for it speaks to essence and origin. That’s why I create ethereal landscapes using pastel—a medium akin to the nature of soil itself. During the pandemic, I had the chance to explore Taiwan more deeply and fell in love with the clouds and waters of its outer islands. With fewer man-made distractions, I was able to wholeheartedly capture the island’s light and scenery.

“If I could, I’d choose to remain here—become clay, and become one.”

「可否靜止在最接近初始的那一刻?」我喜歡土壤元素,因為他是與「本質」、「源頭」有關的事物。因此用粉彩 (類似於土壤本質的媒材),創作天地空靈的風景。因為疫情,更有機會深入遊歷台灣,眷戀上了離島的雲和水。離島沒有太多人造事物使人分心,因此全心全意捕捉離島光景。
